Restaurant Operator Terms of Service

Last updated: October 5, 2026

These Terms govern the restaurant management services provided by TADE TECHNOLOGIES INC. (“Tade,” “we,” or “us”) to a restaurant business and the people it authorizes to use its account (“you”). Tade is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Our contact address is support@thetade.com.

These are restaurant operator terms. Guests use the separate Guest Terms of Service and Guest Privacy Notice. Our Restaurant Operator Privacy Notice explains how we handle operator and restaurant information. The guest documents do not replace your own responsibilities to your guests.

1. Authority and account access

New account creation requires an affirmative checkbox for the displayed Restaurant Operator Terms and Privacy Notice before continuing. The service rejects a missing, stale, or altered version claim rather than recording acceptance of a document you were not shown. Existing account sign-in does not require acceptance of these new versions. An earlier acceptance remains evidence only of the version actually accepted.

You must be an adult with authority to act for the restaurant business you register. When accepting these Terms for a business, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. Provide accurate account and restaurant details, and keep them current.

You are responsible for deciding who may use your account, protecting sign-in credentials and devices, and ensuring that authorized users follow these Terms. Keep access limited to people who need it for the restaurant's operations. Signing in on a shared tablet does not create a separate staff role or guarantee that each person's actions can be attributed individually. Sign out of shared or unattended devices and promptly tell us if you suspect unauthorized access, an exposed reservation link, or a security incident.

2. What Tade provides

Tade provides tools for restaurant setup, public restaurant pages, reservations, waitlists, table management, customer records, and related operational communications. Available features depend on the account's plan, status, restaurant settings, and supported platform. Account setup and certain account-management actions take place on the administrator website; the restaurant app supports day-to-day operations.

You manage the dining service. You are responsible for your published hours, availability, menus, prices, house rules, booking restrictions, seating decisions, and commitments to guests. Keep those details accurate and resolve questions about a reservation, waitlist, cancellation, no-show, or dining experience directly with the guest. Tade does not operate your restaurant or guarantee that a waitlist entry will result in a table.

Check the current record after making changes and attend to delivery or validation errors. A message request, notification status, or estimated wait is not a guarantee that a guest has received, read, or agreed to the information. Maintain a practical way to operate and contact guests if the service or a communications provider is unavailable.

3. Restaurant customer profiles and guest information

Using Tade to take a reservation or manage a waitlist can create or match a customer profile for that restaurant. The profile may contain names and name history, contact details, staff notes, preferences, reservation and visit history, no-show information, and a booking-block status. Staff can look up and reuse information in that profile for later reservations, including bookings taken by phone or entered manually. Completing or cancelling a single visit does not automatically remove the profile.

You are responsible for explaining this collection, storage, and reuse to guests when you collect their information, including outside Tade's online forms. Have an appropriate lawful basis and obtain consent where required. Tade's notices describe the platform's processing; they do not supply permission for every purpose a restaurant may choose.

  • Collect only information reasonably needed for the reservation, visit, or another properly explained restaurant purpose. Keep contact details and operational notes accurate, relevant, and respectful.
  • Treat allergy, dietary, accessibility, and other potentially sensitive information with particular care. Do not request unrelated medical details, government identifiers, payment-card numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive information in notes or uploads.
  • Limit access, downloads, screenshots, and disclosures to authorized people who need the information. Protect any copies you keep outside Tade and apply your own appropriate retention practices to them.
  • Respond to guest access, correction, consent-withdrawal, and deletion requests as applicable, and work with us where a request concerns records processed through Tade.

A saved customer profile, previous visit, or previously supplied phone number is not permission to send marketing. Do not use Tade's transactional messaging tools for advertising, or reuse guest information for an unrelated purpose without any notice and permission required by law. Do not evade an opt-out or recreate deleted information merely to defeat a guest's privacy request.

4. Booking emails and text messages

Where notifications are enabled and the required authorization applies, reservation actions can trigger operational emails to the address authorized for that booking. These may include confirmations, reminders, cancellations, and changes such as a new date, time, or party size. Staff-entered bookings may also use an email address already saved in the restaurant's customer profile, but a saved address alone is not authorization to send emails for a later booking. Confirm the intended recipient and obtain and record the required authorization using the email choice shown in the form. Not every edit creates a message, and delivery is not guaranteed.

Guests who make their own online reservations can receive reservation communications by email under those conditions; providing an optional phone number does not opt them into reservation texts. Text messaging is used for supported waitlist activity and staff-created reservations when enabled and the required SMS consent has been obtained and recorded. Keeping a phone number in a profile does not itself establish SMS consent. When staff record consent, they must actually obtain it for the number and purpose being used and follow the disclosure shown in the relevant form.

Tade sends transactional SMS on the restaurant's behalf. Message frequency varies with activity, typically one to three messages per waitlist visit or staff-created booking. Message and data rates may apply. Guests can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Respect opt-outs and suppression notices; do not work around them by changing contact records, switching a guest to a new record, or asking for consent on someone else's behalf. Tade does not send marketing text messages through these programs. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

For staff-assisted SMS consent, hand the current screen to the guest so they can personally read and check the disclosure; never check the box for the guest. Obtain the applicable consent again after a phone-number change. For reservation email, ask again after an address change and record the choice in Tade. The online waitlist flow does not offer a join-without-SMS choice; provide an alternative directly where appropriate.

5. Restaurant content and permitted use

You retain your rights in restaurant information and content you provide. You give Tade permission to host, store, copy, format, and display that content only as needed to operate the services you use, including publishing the restaurant details, menus, and images you choose to make public. This permission does not give us an unrestricted right to sell your guest list or use it for advertising.

Only upload or publish material you are entitled to use, including any necessary permissions for photographs and personal information. Do not submit unlawful or misleading content, impersonate another restaurant or guest, access another restaurant's records, interfere with the service, bypass security or usage controls, send unsolicited messages, or use the service to harm others. Tade and its licensors retain their rights in the software, branding, and other materials we provide; your right to use them is limited to using the service under these Terms.

6. Trials, plans, and any future charges

Trial and plan status can affect which features and public booking functions are available. The account interface and any specific offer explain the access available to you. A trial or free account does not itself authorize a payment.

Paid subscription collection is not currently enabled. These Terms do not authorize automatic renewal charges or establish a future payment method, billing cycle, or refund policy. Before introducing a paid service for you, we will present its price, applicable taxes, billing and renewal arrangements, and cancellation terms, and obtain any agreement required before charging you. You may choose not to take up that paid service.

7. Privacy, providers, and security

When using Google Maps features, you agree that your use is subject to the then-current Google Maps Additional Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. Opening another provider or delivery-service link also takes you to that provider's service; Tade does not operate it.

Tade processes guest records to deliver the restaurant operations you request and handles operator-account and service-security information for its own administration of the platform. The Restaurant Operator Privacy Notice describes these purposes, providers, international processing, retention, and request channels. We each remain responsible for the obligations that apply to our own handling of personal information.

For guest information processed on your behalf, Tade will use it only for the restaurant operations you request and the related service, security, consent, and legal purposes described in these documents, not for third-party advertising. We will assist with applicable access, correction, deletion, and consent-withdrawal requests, use service providers subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and notify you without unreasonable delay after discovering a security incident affecting that information, subject to lawful restrictions. You must tell us if an instruction or use is unlawful and cooperate in protecting affected guests.

The service depends on hosting, sign-in, email, SMS, and other external providers. Their availability and delivery decisions can affect the features you use. We use safeguards to protect information, but no system is completely secure. If either party becomes aware of a relevant security issue, the parties should cooperate in investigating it, limiting its impact, and meeting applicable notification requirements.

8. Service changes, suspension, and closure

We may maintain or change the service and may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address a security threat, unlawful use, a material breach of these Terms, or a legal requirement. Where practicable and lawful, we will explain the issue and give an opportunity to address it. Urgent risks may require action before notice.

You may stop using Tade and request account closure through the available administrator-web controls or by contacting us. Before closing the account, deal with upcoming reservations and retain any records you are legally entitled and required to keep. Account deletion may require identity verification and confirmation of its effect on restaurant and guest records.

Suspension or closure does not automatically erase every retained record or take away a person's statutory privacy rights. Requests for access, correction, or deletion can still be sent to our contact address. Data handling after closure is described in the Restaurant Operator Privacy Notice. Provisions that need to continue by their nature, including lawful data handling and responsibility for earlier conduct, continue after access ends.

9. Availability and responsibility

We aim to provide a useful and reliable service, but do not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free information, successful delivery of every message, or a particular business result. Tade does not assume the restaurant's responsibility for its independently made dining commitments, its content, or its unlawful use of guest information.

Each party's responsibility for loss remains subject to applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, removes mandatory consumer or privacy protections, or waives remedies that applicable law requires. A free or trial account does not, merely because no fee was paid, reduce those mandatory rights to zero.

10. Updates, governing law, and contact

We will update the date above when these Terms change and provide notice of material changes as appropriate. Where a change requires agreement, we will seek that agreement rather than treating publication of a new page as proof of acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, subject to any mandatory laws and rights that apply in your location. Disputes may be brought before the courts of British Columbia, except where applicable law gives a person a different mandatory forum or remedy. Nothing prevents a complaint to a competent privacy regulator.
